Strongly inspired by the symmetry of Italian and French gardens of the time, Vandelli Botanical Garden was the first Botanical Garden in Portugal designed with the aim of maintaining, studying and collecting the maximum number of species from the plant world.

    Location

    Calçada do Galvão, 1400-171 Lisbon

    Public Transport

You will find Vandelli Botanical Garden across the road from Ajuda Palace, and you can take bus 760, which stops in Praça da Figueira downtown, which passes the palace and takes 30 minutes. Alternatively, you can take Tram 18, departing at Cais do Sodré and stopping a few feet from the garden.

If you are travelling by plane, the venue is only a 12 minute drive from Lisbon airport.
